You will experience the mantra related to your chosen yantra and practice meditation techniques using these tools. In addition, you will practice asanas specific to the yantras and mantras to experience the integration of these three spiritual tools for self-transformation. There will be time for silence and reflection, mantra chanting and yantra gazing, asana practice and deep relaxation.

You will leave feeling inspired and will take home the yantra you chose along with more information to continue understanding yourself.  Bring a yoga mat, a personal journal, and light lunch. (Eco-friendly yoga mats are available for sale at Joy Lane.) Teas will be provided.

About the Instructors:

Mary Ellen (Amba) Steveling, ERYT

Certified Ancient Ayurvedic Counselor

SATYA ~ Self-Awareness through Yoga and Ayurveda

Mary Ellen offers yoga instruction and ayurvedic consultations to help you remember your true nature which is Peace, Joy, Love and Light. She began teaching Hatha Yoga in 1991 as a certified instructor through the Integral Yoga Institute founded by Swami Satchidananda. She continued her training and studies through the IYI in India and Virginia. At the Yasodhara Ashram in British Columbia, she received certification to teach the Hidden Language of Hatha Yoga, Dream Yoga, and Kundalini Yoga as taught by Swami Sivananda Radha.  Mary Ellen brought Hatha Yoga to the KeepWell Center at Calvert Memorial Hospital in 1993 and continues to teach for the hospital and at St. Mary’s College.

Her focus in sharing what she has learned through yoga is to empower others to find the Light of Truth for themselves, within themselves and to recognize that Light in others and in all creation. She incorporates reflection and journaling as a tool to deepen experiences and learning in the practice of hatha yoga so that insights may be applied to daily life and spiritual evolution. Mary Ellen also helps others to know themselves through the Ancient Ayurveda, a truly holistic approach to living. Ancient Ayurveda, also called Multi-Dimensional Living, reveals one’s unique life blueprint, the strengths and challenges one is given at birth. This knowledge makes it possible to orchestrate life in a rich and balanced way.

Mary Ellen is a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance and member of Integral Yoga Teachers Association and the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
